Engine or what

I have a 2000 chevy suburan 2500 I was going down the road then all of a sudden it started sputtering and******** so pulled off the road and it was just making a faint idle and then shut off and then I tryed starting it and it did but sputtering again and it shut off. Help me please

Is it a sensor because I was just about to add oil cause it was at 2 quarts its not blown up because turning over but I need to have an idea someone told me fuel pump

It could be a sensor. Before replacing anything, check to see if there is fuel pressure and good spark to the engine. Also, make sure the oil is clean and full. If the engine loses oil pressure, it will shut down.
