2000 Chervrolet Silverado 5.3L. Truck has gotten to the point where it will not start on cold mornings unless I use starting fluid. After that it runs and starts fine. I have pulled the vacuum line off of the FPR and there is no fuel present (FPR valve OK?). Cleaned air filter and MAF sensor too.
Planning on changing fuel filter first and if that doesn't cure it. If not, I will probably replace the fuel pump although I changed it about 2 years ago. Any input would be most appreciated.

Check the fuel pressure with mechanical gauge before changing pump.

But I would change filter first, pour contents of filter into clear glass container, if fluid seperates, then you may have water in gas.

Thanks for the prompt response. I sure hope that the filter is the problem. Thanks again.
