Knocking noise

I have a 99 toyota corolla. It just started this morning, but anytime I press on the gas, my car makes a loud knocking noise. You can hear and feel the loud knock. I just had a brand new tire put on it this morning. I had a tire specialist tell me the issue may possibly have been a slipped belt. The new tire didnt help the issue. Its almost made it worse, in my opinion. My car now will not go over 20 miles an hour. If I try to make it go over 20mph she knocks and tries to die. What is wrong.

You need to verify where the noise is coming from. If it is from the engine, you could have a spun con-rod, resulting a misfiring cylinder and drastic loss of performance.
