It's my daughters car. It recently starting running bad. No power at take off. Violently jerking/misfiring. Codes p0301 (msfired cyl 1) p0731 (incorrect gear ratio 1) Firestone said take it to dealer. Drove it home. Barely. Pulled plugs and discovered lots of oil in plug wells. Found all kinds of links to bad gasket/seals on valve cover. Would the oil in the wells affect the plug wires. Shorting. Misfiing. Etc? Seems to run fine in park. Stomp on pedal no misfire. It appears to start in the 1st mile of driving. Shifts fine up to the point where it starts running like its on 2 or 3 cylinders.

thanks.

Yes oil soak the plug boots can make it run bad I would replace the valve cover gasket spark plugs and wires to start with. Use copper plugs only. Do you have a delay bang into reverse?
