1999 Pontiac Grand Am leaking transmission fluid

Daughter says she can't drive the car b/c the transmission pipe and line are all rusted and there is a huge leak. There IS transmission fluid under her car in the driveway however I believe the rusted pipes (and noise) she is referring to is the exhaust system. Question goes back to transmission, the car is not slipping gears (automatic) why would she be leaking transmission fluid?

It could be coming from pan or actually one of the lines with a hole rusted through it. These are easily repaird with rubber hose as it's normally only 30 psi going to rad. Zit cold also be a seal or Oring on dipstick tube if there is one
