Crank runs for less than a minute shuts off will not start again. Smell of excess gas. Will start again after 30 minutes rest.

This sounds like a fuel pressure issue. Which means it is either a regulator issue or even injector issues. If they are flooding out the engine it won't start until it is cleared. Try holding the accelerator to the floor to see it starts. If it does then it is flooded. Also, we will need to check the plugs to make sure they are not fouled. However, we need to fix the fuel issue first.

Let's check the fuel pressure and make sure that is okay.
