1999 Explorer transmission

My 1999 ford explorer suddenly had transmission problems. The trans wont shift down to 1st at a stop normally and the upshift usually doesnt happen unless I release the gas for a second. I live in the USVI and hills are the usual. The O/D light started flashing once this problem occured. Could this be a vacuum line or what else? Thanks

It could be several things. However, not a vacuum leak. What you need to do is have the computer scanned to identify where the problem is coming from. If the light is flashing, chances are there is a trouble code stored in the computer.
