Blower fan only works when I tap it with a hammer! I need to change it. I love this site

Hello,

Here is a guide that will give you an idea of what you are in for when doing the job.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/blower-fan-motor-works-on-high-speed-only

This blower motor should be accessible without removing the HVAC.

Here are some diagrams (below) of the front and rear blowers and what it will be like on your car.

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken

I need directions to remove old heater motor and install new motor. If you have sheet showing location and directions that would be perfect

NOTE: Removal of the blower motor on these models requires that the A/C lines be disconnected. According to law, refrigerant must be captured and reused which requires the use of special equipment and training. This procedure MUST be performed by a certified MVAC technician.

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the instrument panel.
3. Recover the refrigerant. See "Note" above.
4. Disconnect the liquid line refrigerant line fitting from the evaporator inlet tube.
5. Disconnect the accumulator inlet tube.
6. Drain the cooling system.
7. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core tubes.
8. Remove the four nuts from the heater-A/C mounting studs on the engine compartment side of the dash panel.
9. Remove the nut that secures the heater-A/C housing mounting brace to the stud on the passenger compartment side of the dashboard.
10. Pull the housing rearward far enough for the mounting studs and evaporator condensate drain tube to clear the dash panel holes.
11. Remove the housing from the vehicle.
12. Remove the three screws that secure the motor to the housing.
13. Remove the wheel, if desired, by removing the clip from the motor shaft.
14. Installation is the reverse of removal. Note the following points:
A. When installing the wheel onto the shaft, be sure to line up the flats.
B. The ears of the retaining clip must be on the shaft flat.
C. Be sure the blower motor seal is in place.

I need to replace the blower motor and I wanted to know if there is anywhere that I can get an exploded view schematic of the dashboard and blower motor assembly.

Test for power at the motor. If no power, test wiring for shorts. If power is present, suspect faulty motor.

Broken (front) heater blower control. The heater blower control for the front part of the truck started to work intermitently, then finaly packed it in totally. I need to know how to remove the control module from the dashboard and how to repair the front blower switch. Many thanks for the help.

With everything on, did you check for voltage and ground at the blower motor connector? If your saying the blower won't work? I'll look for the module removal procedure.
