Overalled motor but wont start

Hi I overalled motor but it doesnt want to srart when the oil is in the motor, lifters goes rock hard and no compression. I then drain the oil then the car starts perfeckt but as soon as I start ading oil the car starts missing and dies. Then when I try to start there is no compression. What can be the problem. Please if anyone can help me, or just tell me what the problem is. Thanks alot.

Did you replace the lifters? It sounds like they are pumped up.

Are te valves adjustable? You may have them too tight.

What kind of motor are you working with?

Hi yes I have replaced the lifters. It is the 200ie astra. 20 seh.

Sounds like you have a bad set of lifter. They soudl settle down and center.

They are hyraulic? Not solid?
