What codes do you have?A basic code reader wont read abs codes most of the time. What brand and model code reader do you have?

The vss would effect the transmission shifting not the abs the scanner at auto zone I doubt reads abs codes. So when you hook up a scanner what happens it doesnt power up off the obd2 connector no commicationwith car etc?

If the scan tool doesnt power up off the connector you most likely have a blown fuse thats the first thing I would check. The inside fuse box the fuse is labeled cigar Ltr see if it has power to both sides of that fuse. The vss is tested with a multimeter lets start by checking the fuse and getting the codes.

Your sure that fuse is good otherwise your next step will be tracing the orange wire at the obd2 connector.I would hate to see you trace that wire for nothing. Alright next see if the orange wire at the obd2 connector has battery voltage.

Obd2 connector where the scan tool hooks up. Are you grounding the meters black lead to chassis ground and not the ground on the connector? And hooking the red meter lead to the orange wire at the connectorand getting 4.3 volts?Because thats a strange reading.

Your going to have to trace the orange wire back and see where the problem is causing the low voltage reading. Thats where I would start so then you can scan for codes.

The orange wire goes back to the inside fuse box to the cigar Ltr fuse. As far as the shifting and the abs we have to get the obd2 connector working battery votage etc. So we can get the codes otherwise we will just be guessing and wasting time.

You have to start at the obd2 connector follow the orange wire back to the inside fuse box testing the voltage as you go along till you find the problem.

At this point a wire diagram is only going to show the orange wire running from the obd2 connector to the inside fuse box. It wont show what path it takes to get there thru the dash. Your just going to have to test the voltage as you follow it back to the inside fuse box.
