I just replaced my steering column shift tube assembly on my 97 ford f 250. But if I start in park it wont shift but I can start in neutral and then I can shift. What did I do wrong?

Yes replaced with same year/model. Brake is depressed. Key is in run position. If I put key in acc position I can shift to neutral and start truck and then shift into drive.
