My 97 ford expedition doesnt want to start. When I go to turn the ignition, it sounds like it wants to start but doesnt. While I'm turning the ignition, all the icons on on my instrumental panel turn on and the theft light blinks fast which I've never notice it do. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Well if the security light on and then flashing
its giving a code
check the key as a 1st step
and use an another original key

First of all have you had the battery tested yet since the no start?Also made sure the battery cables are clean and tight?If you have that all wraped up then set the multimeter to low scale ohms 200 ohms scale. Then touch one meter lead to the negative side of the battery. Then the other lead to a unpainted clean spot on the engine. It should read 2 ohms or less.

The expedition, turns over but wont crank. It trys to. But its like not having enough fuel. The pump comes on at first when its swicthed on' then quits. Could there be a promblem with the therft deterent system, or fuel pump or relay, and if so where would the relay be found. Thanks in advance for your help

We've replaced the spark plugs, coil packs, air filter, fuel filter, and Mass Air Flow Filter. Auto said that parts were running rich and lean as well. Now it won't start period. It tried to turn over but nothing. Yesterday when it turned over a ton of black stuff came out of the Exhaust pipe. Today it won't even turn over. What else can it be or what else do we need to search for?

The black stuff was most likely a result of the engine running rich.

Does it try to start? Have you checked to see if you are getting good spark? Also, have you checked fuel pressure? Finally, behind the throttle body, there is a vacuum line with a 90 degree bend in it. Make sure it isn't leaking. They commonly break and cause problems.

Let me know what you find.

the truck does not start and the anti theft light comes on when you try to turn the key over it makes no noise the battery is good what can be the promblem

The chip in the end of the key may have failed, try a spare key.

If the car turns back off after you turn it on and the anti theft light is on, you may need to re=place the key and/or chip in the key

Check for 12 volts at starter(big wire). Check for 12 volts on little wire at starter when trying to start. If voltages are there and no crank/ replace starter.

1997 ford expedition sputters and shakes and barely makes it over 50 miles an hour, after putting in fuel injection solution the truck started an ran fine until I cut it off, now it wont start.
I put in more fuel injection cleaner and high octane gas and still wont start
