Went in for an oil changed recently, said I needed a new air filter (it was really bad)to save money I replaced it myself with a fram from walmart. Right after that I was idiling at the mall and the truck quit. Started hard but started. Since then it cuts out while driving and has stalled at stop signs but always starts right up easily? Replaced fuel pump in the past but then it cut out and wouldn't start so I think it's someplace else. All connections from battery to fuse center to fuel pump have been cleaned and checked. I really don't think it's the air filter but who knows on these burbs.

No CEL and fuel pressure checks out at 60psi. Got alot of miles but hate to put her out to pasture just yet. She doesn't burn or leak oil, 20 mpg and looks great yet. I read on another blog about the same issue and he disabled the alarm system and it went away. Although I haven't tried it yet it makes me lean towards an electrical issue?

What motor is in it? Crank sensors and cam sensors cause similar symptoms. Check to see if MAF sensor needs cleaning.

Since that motor has a distributor, problem could be related to it's components.

Not sure what happen but it hasn't happen now for two days, running like a top again. This has got me stumped. Did notice some engine pinging when it was going on but that has stopped a well. Could it possibly have been bad gas?
