Driving down the road in my 1997 Chevy Cavalier and both front tires just stopped rotating. What could it be?

You're going to have give some details on that one. Do you mean the car stopped moving but the engine was still running? Engine stalled and you coasted to the side of the road? Two front brakes locked up and you skidded to a stop? You can't turn the steering wheel? What did the rear wheels do?
