1996 GMC Sonoma has no power to dash and it will not start

It has power at the fuse box and the engine compartment is getting power. The cluster box is not getting power and it will not turn ovver at all

So have you had the battery tested and made sure the battery cables are clean and tight?Also do you have a multimeter to do some testing?

Yes my dad did. Everything has power out in the engine compartment. The fuse box has power but the dash board doesnt have power and it will not start

So do have a multimeter or test light so we can trace power and see where the problem is?Also so the only thing that doesnt have power is the dash warning lights and starter?

My dad said he replaced the starter thinking it was it. But he tells me everything is getting power except the cluster. Is there a relay or fuse that can cause this from happen

So just the cluster and the starter are the only things inop?Also I will ask you for a third time now do you have a test light or multimeter to trace the problem down?

Alright at your ignition switchyou will see a big red wire going to it. See if that big red wire has battery voltage. Let me know what you find.
