My truck sat up for a few weeks and when I went to drive it it started to run hot but did not over heat or smoke then I started to lose power and the truck final stalled out and I had to coast to a stop. I tried to start it and it would turn over but not start. I had I friend look at it and he thought it wasnt getting compresion but he was unable to find the problem.

If your service engine light is on have it checked for codes. Then see if you have any fuel pressure. You need about 50 ps.S.I. To run and start. If you don't have a gauge, go on the fuel rail and take the schrader valve cap off and stick a small screwdriver in it and see if it squirts up. It should go a ways up. You should really have a gauge to read the pressure though. That's a place to start.
