430 was the only code reported. I replaced all of the sensors before someone told me that it was only bank 2, too late to do anything about that, so it's moot, I'm not going to worry about it. I do not plan on letting a dealer look at it at all because they will want to replace both converters and the wye pipe since the're all connected Probably over $1000 at a dealership (book value on this car is $1200-$1400). I'm hoping that there are less expensive options that I can do that only take time. If it is the converter, I'll remove the wye with the converters, cut one out and replace it. I have no intention of pitching the whole assembly if only one converter is bad. Before I do that, I want to make absolutley sure that it is my only option and alt least have confidence that it will fix my trouble.

According to my book on the PO430. The code reads as follows( catalyst efficiency monitor /or exhaust system fault. Any leaks in the exhaust system any where can set this code cause the O2 can't read it I don't really think you have a cat problem. But I do think you have an air leak some where in the system or even a vaccum leak and it is causeing your O2"s to give the computer the wrong info. Are you useing a lot of gas? 8) NOS let us know.

I just filled it up and I really did not think that the results would be that great. I do not know what is good for a 3.8L engine but I was pleasantly surprised that it was 21.5 mpg, which is better than I originally thought it would be. My 2000 Impala with a V-6 is not that much better and I'd venture to guess that the Ford is a heavier vehicle. I'm going to check for exhaust leaks and vacuum leaks this weekend.
