My fuel pump is dead

I have a 1996 ford falcon station wagon
The fuel pump is on the side of the fuel tank.

Can I change it without dropping fuel tank?(Can you offer any advice please.)

I would like to do it myself.

Car has about 240000 km's

I have changed a fuel pump on a sedan.
Access from the boot.

Like how the empty fuel out of the tank(about 10-15L)
I do not have a hoist.

I would say you want less then 3/4 tank here is what I found for replacing the fuel tank. Fuel pump is an easy task to do their is an inspection plate in the boot under the carpet on the left hand side their is 6 screws holding the inspection plate on then when u got the plate off you will see the fuel sender unit and 2 fuel hoses unplug the wires and the hoses then undo the black ring that's holding the sender down once u have that undone lift the sender out and the fuel pump will come out with it
