I have a 96 chrysler cirrus 6cyl which has me stumped. It starts and drives perfect ( no engine lights). But if it sits for a day or so it wont start, only crank. When this happens I usually crank it till the battery dies and have to jump it. After a few minutes and alot of cranking it will start and run perfect. The car is showing no warning signs or symtoms to anything. Funny thing is that once it is started it will be problem free for a week or so. The car has 89000 miles

Sounds like you might have a fuel pump that isn't starting up. GM pumps will often fail while you're driving, but Chrysler pumps hardly ever to that. They will stay running once they're started. Next time the engine doesn't start, turn the ignition switch off, wait at least five seconds, then turn the switch back to "run" and listen for the hum of the pump for one second. If necessary, listen by the tank while a helper turns the switch on. Remember, it will only run for one second, then it will turn off. It is supposed to run again during engine cranking.
