I have a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am with 90,000 miles on it. Yesterday the engine started shaking. It doesn't seem to excellorate as well as it had been. You can actually see and feel the engine shake. What would cause this.

That's called a misfire and is caused by such things as worn spark plugs, defective ignition coil, plugged, sticking, or leaking fuel injector, etc. Those are the simple things. Broken parts inside the engine can also cause misfires although usually there will be unusual noises too. More than likely until it is diagnosed and repaired, raw fuel will be wasted going out the tail pipe.
