Can anyone tell me where the fuse is located for the driver side electric seat on a 1995 GMC Jimmy 4 wheel drive? I found a fuse box on the drivers side under the dash and all of them are ok. The seat was working fine and just stopped. I checked the wires with a tester and have no current where the wires meet the seat. Im guessing theres another fuse box somewhere. Thanks.

Hi:

The fuse for the 1995 GMC Jimmy's power seat is located to the left side of the dash board next to the door. It is the large aluminum 20 amp fuse. This fuse controls the power windows and driver's seat. Additionally, check under the rug on the drivers side by the gas pedal, there are three orange wires spliced to another orange single wire that can corrode and break thus causing loss of power to the driver's seat. You can check the continuity to the three switches on the seat with a multi-meter before removing the seat to find the short.

I just made the same repair on my '95 GMC Jimmy. Once I repaired the short my rear driver side window, 4 wheel drive transfer case and power seat all worked. Good Luck!
