1996 GMC Jimmy crank fuse keeps blowing

The relay was already replaced once and if we unplug the relay and plug it back in then replace the fuse the jimmy will start. Where do we start looking for the short.

I would look on the steering column, where the electrical part of the ignition switch is located. There is a steel rod that runs from the key switch to the electrical switch, sometimes the rod will crack the switch causing an intermittent short. Hope this info is still useful.
