Do both indicators work on the dash when using the emergency flashers?

If it's the same story, your bulb in the dash may be blown or maybe is not making a good connection

Heres whats doing on. I have an erradic oil guage. I replaced the sending unit. Still erradic. Tried a used cluster still the same. Before trying any thing the signals and emerg. Flashers were working. Now my daylight running lights don't work at all either. Its seems like the lights that are supposed to work are all going wacky one by one, is there some kind of module that powers all the lights that could be going bad?

Problem is on rear driver turn/brake lamp. Same filament in bulb for both. After a year, buld burned out. Replaced it, and a day later it burned out. Same time frame for third replaced bulb. Relay is good. Fuse is good. No moisture in lamp case or connector. Assuming it is not brake switch on brake pedal because the othe side works fine. Wiring is good, at least to where it joins the otherside, in which case it is wrapped and has black plastic wireway to from the back to the dash. If it is a short(which I now assume) have any ideas on where? Anyone with a similar problem? I am hesitant to tear out all the wiring, northeast ohio is cold and sleety right now! Thanks.

Hi:
Are you sure the socket is good? When the bulb goes bad, have you checked it for continunity to make sure it was truly bad? Keep in mind, they are 12 volt bulbs and that is all that is generated unless the voltage regulator is bad and you getting an overcharge. In that case, it would do more than one bulb.

Let me know what you find with the socket and the continuity test.

Joe

Joe,

it actually turned out to be the PCB board. I took this out of the housing and with the lights set to on I applied pressure to the circuit traces(which were not exposed to skin so no electrocution!) When I did this I got a connection. Turns out the traces burned out so I soldered up the gap and has worked fine since.

Thanks!

My left turn signal works but it blinks fast, so I thought I had a bad bulb. This is not the case though as ever light works just fine but the left side just blinks fast. Also brakelights work just fine.

Thanks, sooneroidkc

I have a 97 chevy Cheyenne. The problem I am having is that when I am driving my signal relay is clicking like I have the signal on when I don't. The clicking stops when I push on the brakes and then comes on again when I release the brakes. I thought it was the relay, so I replaced this and the problem is still there. All the lights are operational as well. Can anyone help?

Hello, I have heard of this on other models. It may be a problem with the multifunction switch.

Check for ground problems. The power is backfeeding throught that circuit and turning the lights on.
