Problem with the Chevrolet Caprice Classic Cars & Trucks
Hey I replaced my cap and rotor only I have changed my spark plugs and wires. I changed the whole distributor about a year ago but recently put a new cap and rotor on. New starter and all. My car from cold start will take about three times of turning the key and it will crank right up, but when turned off the car will take forever to crank back up. I have heard I need a new optispark, ignition coil and module also a new flywheel by it grinding when trying to crank any help or more information let me kno

I would look at fuel pressure. Either the pressure regulator may be bad or the pump may be at fault. Get a shop to verify this. All the symptoms fit with your description.

U need to check the fuel pressure and for fuel pressure leak down with the key off. Recheck your wires and ingition timing. Install some starter shims to fix flywheel clearance.
