Just had the head overhauled and now the overflow cap is spilling out antifreeze. We never bled out the system? It is spilling out of the overflow cap, the cooling fan turns on and the temperature indicator does go down when it gets hot. The coolant light will flash when driving then go off again?

What temp on the gauge does the fan turn on?Also those engines dont have a problem with traping air they bleed the air out by themselves after the first fan cycle. Have you checked the cap yet?A bad cap you will loose a lot of coolant. Also at what temp on the gauge does the coolant boil over.

Try bleeding the system and if problem persists, you would need to recheck the head job. Have a pressure leak down test. The head gasket installation could have some fault. Was the head pressure tested prior to installation?
