Oil light is on

1994 pontiac grand am oil pressure light on, there are no oil leaks and the oilf is full. I was told to change the oil pressure switch, but need to know where the is located and how to do this.

Located RH rear of engine compartment.

Down low near the oil filter, front of engine. If there is an air-dam under front of vehicle, that switch may be awkward to get at. Look down from the top, if you can't see anything, use a mirror.

Do you have a basic set of tools? Are you handy under the hood? If the answer is no, this may not be the job for you? The autostore sells a socket for the oil pressure switch. I got one rolling around in my tool-box somewhere, If I ever find it again, I probably won't remember what it's for?

You can use an analog gage in place of the sending unit, to double-check oil pressure.
