My 1994 dodge ram won't crank unless you play with the switch or bang on the gas tank. When it starts, it keeps running until you turn it off. Is it the fuel pump or switch?

If by crank you mean the starter doesn't work, then no to the fuel pump. If the starter works and the only way for the for the engine to run is to hit the fuel tank, chances are you have a bad electrical connection at the top of the tank or like you said, the fuel pump is most likely going bad.
