Vehicle clunks out

I have a 1994 chevy k blazer 5.7 liter 4wd truck. 178000 miles. Runs fine in park. Ran fine yesterday. This morning started fine but when I put it into gear it clunked out. Tried several times. Everytime it get put into gear it clunks out. Any suggestions

Check for vacuum leaks on the engine. If the check engine light is on, scan the computer for trouble codes. Also, check fuel pump pressure to make sure it is within spec.
