Hello.

I have a Manual Trans. BMW 318is that won't start. I replaced the engine recently, and everything seems to be connected correctly, however, when I try to turn it on all that happens is I hear a click from the starter and ignition. I got the starter and the battery tested and both tested perfectly fine. I thought maybe the starter was binding with the flywheel. I took the starter off, jacked the the car up in the back, put it into neutral and turned the crankshaft to see if the flywheel would move. I turned the crankshaft in both neutral and muscled it around in 1st gear, and the flywheel didn't move either time. Could the flywheel be bound up inside the transmission, or not seated correctly? The starter is fine, so if the flywheel is bound up could it keep the starter from turning the car over? Is that the right way to check if the flywheel is moving, or am I doing something wrong here altogether?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance,

Yes, I did. I even got a warranty on it. The engine is virtually brand new.
