Starting Problem

I have 1993 Nissan Quest Minivan. When starting, it's not getting enough gas. When I press the gas pedal it floods it. After waiting a few minutes it will start.

If its not getting enough gas why is it flooding-Check the fuel pressure with a gauge if its within specs-start here

Until recently all I had to do is turn on the ignition without touching the gas pedal and it would start. Then it got to the point where I have to press the gas padal at-least once quickly. Then it would start. Now if I press the pedal it floods. As stated, I wait a few minutes then it will start. My friend who is not a mechanic, believes it has something to do with a modular of some type. Once the car has started, it runs find until I turn it off and have to re-start it again.
