'hi, I have a 1993 jeep cherokee, 4.0 engine changed fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, spark plugs, cap and rotor. Starts fine when cold but after it`s driven and then shut off it will not start without holding the pedal to the floor then runs rough, black smoke out the tail pipe. You can smell gas and it almost acts like it's flood

Use a gage and check fuel pressure. See if pressure holds after pump stops? Maybe you have a leaking injector? Check for applicable mil codes. You should be able to check those, yourself.

Coolant temp sensor?
