Hi everyone,
My car is the LE model. I have a problem with my brakes at the moment for quite some time now. I end up replacing the brake pads both front and back then bled it out twice. Then replaced the brake hose on the front drivers side since it had a tear. Finally, I checked the parking brake pedal by pressing and releasing several times to see if the brake light on the dashboard would go away but it did not.

Thanks you in advance.

Also my car has an 3VZ-FE engine.

Good afternoon.

The red light comes on for low fluid in the master cylinder, e-brake switch not working and if there is a pressure differential in the system.

Disconnect the switch on the e brake and see if the light goes out.

Hi Roy,

I checked the fluid level and bleed out the brakes as well. As far as the e-brake, I have a parking brake that I used 6-10 times to reset it. Now when you say disconnect do you mean pulling on the parking brake handle or disconnecting the sensor to reset the brake system?

Applying and releasing does not reset anything. There is a simple on/off switch on the release mechanism the closes when pulled and is supposed to open when down.

Is the fluid level correct?

Do you have ABS and is the yellow light on along with the red light?

There is no reset at all for this light. It is all mechanically controlled.

Hi Roy,

The fluid level is correct and there is no ABS in my car. Just a big red light in my dashboard that says BRAKE when the car is on or on ignition.

Ok, dis connect the e brake switch and see if the light goes out. If it is the switch, it will open the circuit and turn off the light.

There is a proportioning valve in the system that has a switch on it as well. When the the valve moves internally to one side or another, it will trip the light. It should always be centered.

Is the brake pedal high and hard?

Hi Roy it turns out that my BRAKE light in my dashboard has turned off. It happened yesterday when I was driving and accidentally pressed on the brakes too hard. Once I did. I noticed that the light has turned off. Just to make sure I turned on and off my car numerous times to make sure the BRAKE light in my dashboard was completely and sure enough it is.

Thank you so much for you help. I appreciate it.

Your welcome. It sounds like you pushed the proportioning valve to center with slamming on the brakes.
