Heres the deal I took the car out for a drive last night and I have been working on this car off and on for about 7 weeks and I got it out last night started it up and started just fine but when you let it idle it backfires and runs rough at sometimes and runs fine the next minute and the other day I got it out and drove it after we put a fuel pump on it run pretty good but when you try to punch the gas pedal to the floor it seems to smother out and also when I took it out last night I got down to the end of the driveway it run rough and wanted to die on me when I got it on the road it did die on me started it up again and gave it gas run pretty good once you are driving it but when you slow down it wants to jerk and die if you don't put it in neutral and it run like that while we had it out and when we was heading home it seemed to do ok until we got to the house and it died again you could crank it and put it in drive it would choke out again I have put a new computer on it a new mass air flow sensor throttle position sensor new fuel pump new fuel filter checked the fuel pressure checked the cadillac converter to make sure it wasn't clogged up and also I had 2 sets of ignition control modules that I took to auto azone to get tested and apparently they said they were good and I went back to advanced auto parts where I got the cpu from to see if they think they gave me a bad cpu because before we stuck the cpu in it would cut out evry once in a while nothing like what it is now and changed the old ignition modules to another set that theysaid that was good and after we stuck that cpu in it runs bad and he switched the ignition modules to see if that would change anything and didn't so could you help me out on some info I really would appreciate it I have put about $450 in this piece of crap to have it running worse than ever and no one around here as far as auto part stores and dealers don't wanna help me out not unless I pay about another $450 to tell me whats wrong and the car isn't worth that much but please help thanks just email me back at shooter5152@yahoo. Have you changed the spark plug wires and plugs? Do you have a Check Engine Light? It is ok if you can't donate right now we will see if we can help you. Are you doing your own work? Get back with me I will try to help you through this. There will be more questions before we have answers more than likely.
Good Luck.
