1991 Ford Aerostar fuel pump

The fuel pump is pumping too much gas to the engine. The car died and would not start until we
unplugged the fuel pump. Then the car started but
only ran for a minute, so plugged the fuel pump
back in and then the car started but would only
drive a very short distance before flooding again.
So then we wou;d have to unplug the fuel pump
again before it would start then plug it back in
and so on.

The fuel pump can't pump too much fuel. If you have a problem with overfueling, something in the operating system is allowing that to happen and that's what needs to be determined. Start by checking for stored trouble codes and go from there.
