Start with basics. Compression test, fuel pressure and spark.

You need to remove a spark plug and use a compression tester to see what it is when you crank it over.

Fuel pressure gauge to verify pressure.

Use a screw driver on the end of a ignition wire to check for spark.

The tools can be rented at a parts store.
