1988 Mustang clutch

When I give it gas to accelerate, the rpms rev high and there's no acceleration. Do I need a new clutch or is there an adjustment that can be made?

Try the adjustment first, lift on the clutch pedal then push it to the floor, there is a plastic adjuster connected to the cable
