Shifting problem

I have a Scottsdale for about two months ran fine until I took it on a three hour trip to pick up a four wheeler for a friend. It seems that it does not want to shift I have to step on the peddle and rev up the rpm's for it to shift and when it shifts out of second the other gears is not too bad but still does not want to shift. And ideas on what the problem could be?

If this is an overdrive transmission the throttle cable is very important. Try the adjustment in picture and make sure it works and is not binding and or broken otherwise a transmission professional will need to look at this it may be a valve body problem. Also, check fluid if dark brown or black transmission is going to need a rebuild.

Not sure but it has a 3500 motor. Thank you I will have to try and see. Hoping it might work.

When I went to check it the next day it stopped out of the blue but it's staying tranny fluid everywhere all over the engine.

Hello,

This means the fluid is getting air into it or it is super heated which can be from slippage. It also could be that the transmission vent tube is plugged not allowing the normal expansion of air in or out of the case.
