Heater problem
1987 Lincoln Town Car V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic Alot miles

Im going on my second winter here without heat in my old Lincoln. I bought a new heater core last year but I cant figure out exactly how to get to the old one to replace it. Ive tried going under the dash And I cant find it. Under the hood I can see where the core is, but I cant figure out how to get that apart. Which way is the right way?

Unfortunately this job is a rather large job and takes several hours even for the most experienced mechanics. You usually have to disassemble the dashboard to get to the heater core. Instructions are below for your vehicle. If you feel you are not capable of doing the job, I suggest having a reputable repair shop do it for you to prevent any further damage to vehicle or harm to self.
