Engine stalls after warmed up

Truck runs great when cold, but stalls out after a few miles. Starts back up after sitting a few hours.

This issue sounds most like a crank sensor that has failed.

Here is a guide that goes into more detail about this. The only thing different is your sensor is internal to the distributor but the idea of operation is the same.

Basically we need to confirm spark to the plugs. The way to do that on this engine is remove a plug and put a screwdriver in the end and touch the metal tab inside and then hold the metal part of the screwdriver next to a bolt on the engine. Then crank the engine when it is not starting. If you have spark then use some starter fluid in the intake and see if it fires.
