I have a 1987 Chevy silv 350 tbi system I believe iv narrowd the problem down to a shortage. The truck odors fine until I hit the passenger front finder with my hand. The injectors then shoot so much gas that it floods the engine. Where should I look for a shortage causing the throttle body to four the engine

Actually, it sounds like the TBI is bad. See if you can find one at a salvage yard that is known to be good. Try it and return it if I am wrong, but that would be my first step. The injector shouldn't dump fuel like that. One other idea is to check if the injector is getting power then hit the fender. If it is getting power the entire time, that would confirm my beliefs. If there is no power, then you need to trace the wiring to locate where the problem lies.
