There is no light sensor check your dash switch to make sure the lights are not turned down. It may be a poor connection or the switch is going bad, the rheostat that runs the light dimmer or brighter for dash.

For a mechanic no but it depends on your ability. It still may not be the switch either are you sure all the bulbs are good and not missing? Also this may sound stupid but clean your battery terminal ends and make sure your alternator belt is tight. The older chevys used to chew those up quite regularly prior to serpentine drive.

When I said light sensor I guess I meant photocell. Cluster is out and i'm going to replace bulbs w/exnon and photocell. Do I really need the the photocell kit or just the photocell? LCD panels look good(no sunburn or chips) and the pins look good as well. Any good sights for these products?

Still don't think there is a photo cell for that drawings don't show it but hell it's an older car and I don't' remember lol. As far as sites just look online it's a Corvette and a lot of suppliers. I imagine they have lcd's but don't know how expensive they are.

Sorry our manual s do not show a light sensor or photo cell like I said in previous replies and I simply can't remember a car that old whether they did or not. That is why there are forums for people is all they do is live an d breathe their type of cars they like. After working on thousands of cars it 's hard to remember on specific kind.
