Some times my breaks works on my 1987 chevy truck left break and left turn signal we have canged out recptal what could be the problem

Check and test the directional/hazard switch-the power for both goes thru this switch or the dark green wire is shorting out/loose connection somewhere-from the switch to the bulb socket-
