I bought an OBD-1 Scanner recently and tried to test my truck, an EFI 1986 F-150. The scanner will not go in to test mode, meaning it will not connect to the computer. I tried the scanner on an '87 mustang to make sure it wasn't the scanner, and I found the scanner did work on the mustang. I know there are only 3 pins on my OBD-1 connector, and that it only plugs up to two of them, plus one separate cable. Do you know how I can actually test the connector to my computer to see if the wires are connected or if there might be a break in the circuitry somewhere?

ALSO CHECK YOUR FUSES. (ON SOME CHEVYS, THE OBD CONNECTOR SHARES THE FUSE WITH THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER)

I HOPE THIS HELPS
