1955 Jeep CJ-5 will not start. Starter makes a clunking sound when activated and won't turn over. I have replaced the starter, solenoid and getting ready to replace the coil. This is a 6 volt jeep!

2.2 F-Head.

The new starter does what?

With the starter out, did you look at the teeth on the flywheel?

Can you get two full engine revolutions with a wrench, keys out, out of gear. (See my picture)
