Vehicle just started making a loud whining noise that increases with acceleration

It sounds similar to a wheel hopping without the rough ride. It sounds like it is coming from the engine department rather than the front wheels.

Can you get a recording of this noise? If it increases with acceleration, that means you have to be moving to hear the noise? Or does it get louder when engine RPM?

More then likely this is a bearing noise but we need to make sure of this in order to move forward. Hearing this noise will help get us on the same page.

If it is coming from the engine then I am concerned that the fan is cracked or a more serious issue like an engine noise.

If this is a wheel bearing issue then this will help.
