Whenever the engine is in third/fourth gear, when I start to accelerate at low RPM (1,000-1,500) I get a lot of vibration coming from the engine area. Thoughts?

Hey RJPRZYBYLSKI,

Do you have the check engine light on?

I have found a TSB (technical service bulletin) which may be applicable.

I have attached the first description, it is only applicable to certain vehicle VIN's

Toyota TSB 0312-17

It looks like you may be out of power-train warranty but i would still say it would be worth contacting a Toyota dealer to see if the TSB is applicable. If it is applicable you may be able to get Toyota to cover it as it is a known issue.

The repair includes replacing the torque converter and reprogramming the PCM.

If the issue is not as described in the TSB and you have a check engine light on the next stage would be to read the codes. Guide below:

Hope that helps, any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Regards, Joe

Hello,

This could be a motor mount that is starting to fail. Motor mounts are usually attached the engine and then to the frame with durable rubber in between. When a motor mount fails the rubber usually is what fails from normal wear and tear over time. I have included a few links for you to go to down below.

I have also included explosion engine diagrams of your vehicle's engine in the diagrams down below. Please go through this guides and get back to us with what you find out.

Thanks,
Alex
