Hi, my car has been struggling to change gears lately and always overheats until I turn the heater on. Once my car is up to speed on the motorway it seems fine. But it takes a while for the gears to change and if I rev the car too high it starts to jolt until it changes gears. I was just wanting to know if maybe I have low transmission fluid. Usually my car struggles the most when I drive it first thing in the morning and changing out of first gear. I tried to check my transmission fluid but I can’t actually tell if it’s low or not.

Yes. This could be as simple low or old fluid. I attached the process on how to check it. However, if you want to get the transmission warm and then pull the dip stick with the engine running then get a picture of it, we can tell if it looks low.

Then also, you will want to smell the fluid and see if it stinks or smells burnt. The best way to tell if it is worn is to get new fluid and smell that to compare it.

Let's start with this and go from there. Thanks
