Car was overfilled with transmission fluid now car needs new transmission

Mechanic changed trans pan overfilled car with trans fluid then car would not go in gear Now need new transmission can over filling cause this

Normally the transmission will blow it out the filler tube, how far was it driven and how over full was it?

Over filled by 1 gal or more driven 2hrs before car started having problems

OK, I do feel that this will be the responsibility of the repairer, this is something that you will have to take up with them, but I doubt that they will accept liability with out a fight.
