No reverse

My first major issue. I can drive, just not reverse. The lock engine icon light comes on and I can't move in reverse, even in neutral. Help please!

Good morning,

When was the last time you had the oil/filter in the transmission?

Is the check engine light on? If it is, can you have it read? A parts store will check it for free. That will lead us in a direction for the failure.

In most cases, the issue is internal in the transmission not a sensor or solenoid.
