1995 Mercury Tracer Overheating/stalling
Engine Mechanical problem
1995 Mercury Tracer 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 140000 miles
The vehicle overheats and idles rough and stalls at intersections. Are these problems all related to the radiator or are they two seperate issues?

Have you checked your oil dipstick to see if water is present (oil will be caramel color if contaminated with water)? I had the same experience not too long ago and I had to replace the heads, which had two heat fractures. Your radiator could have started with the heating system: radiator, thermostat, leaking hose or heater core. My fluid leaks started with the heater core and if leaks are constant, the engine temp may be affected. Good luck
